About the Author
Andrea Warren

I grew up in the small town of Newman Grove, Nebraska, with my parents, two brothers, two sisters, and our dog, Pepper. Books were my constant companions, and early on I enjoyed writing, keeping a diary and making up stories. I was especially drawn to true stories and always loved history. I majored in English and history in college and eventually earned a master’s degree in literature from the University of Nebraska and a master’s in journalism from the University of Kansas.
I taught school for a decade in Hastings, Nebraska, and during that time began writing articles for publication in magazines. I lived another decade in Lawrence, Kansas, where I began my career as a full time writer, working as an editor, a reporter and a freelance magazine writer.
Once I began writing books, my focus became nonfiction history for readers ages ten and up. My goal always was to create book that I would have enjoyed as a student and would have found satisfying to teach.
I still live in eastern Kansas, in the Lawrence-Kansas City area. My husband is no longer living, but I am blessed with two daughters, four wonderful grandsons, extended family, and many dear friends. My interests include reading—mostly history, biography, and historical fiction—world travel, needlework, and of course writing.
